Sweet + Smoky Beer Wings

2 lbs wing drumettes, patted dry with paper towel

1 tbsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1 tsp chipotle powder

1 tsp sea salt 

1 tbsp brown sugar 

6 turns on a pepper mill

Mix spices in a bowl and sprinkle over wings. Mix well so that the wings are evenly coated with the spice mixture. If possible, refrigerate the wings in the spice mixture for 4 hours or overnight for the best flavour. 


1/2 cup amber or dark beer (we recommend Half Pints Bulldog Amber Ale or Stir Stick Stout) 

2/3 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup ketchup

2 tbsp Smak Dab Mustard Beer Chipotle 

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1/2 tsp smoked paprika 

1/2 tsp garlic powder

In a small saucepan, combine all the ingredients and whisk together. Simmer on medium for 10-5 minutes, or until the sauce is reduced and thick. Set aside. 

Place wings on a lightly greased grill over medium heat. Grill 10-12 minutes per side, then baste wings with sauce. Turn, and continue to baste until done and desired crispness is reached – total cooking time should be about 20-25 minutes. Serve immediately!
