Balsamic Roasted Apple Toast with Smoked Cheddar, Toasted Walnuts and Maple Mustard
Balsamic Roasted Apples
3-5 small orchard apples, skin on, quartered, cored
2 tsp brown sugar
2 tsp melted honey
1 tbsp melted butter
2 sprigs of thyme
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine all ingredients in a pan, except the balsamic vinegar, and roast for 30 minutes, or until the apples are golden and soft. Add balsamic vinegar, and roast another 15 minutes, until the apples are sticky and very golden. Allow to cool slightly.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. To your favorite bread, arrange a layer of smoked cheddar and melt in the oven. Once melted, add a layer of the balsamic apples, and drizzle with SMAK DAB Canadian Maple Mustard. Finish with toast walnuts and DIG IN!!!
