Refreshing Sesame Lime Cucumber Salad


Nothing can beat a side dish like this on a hot summer's day!

Watch as I make a Cucumber Salad covered in sesame seeds and flavoured with a splash of lime.

Refreshing Sesame Lime Cucumber Salad

5 cups cucumber, shaved or sliced 

4 tbsp sodium-reduced soy sauce or tamari

4 tsp sesame oil

2 tsp seasoned rice vinegar

Juice of 1 lime 

½ tsp sugar (or 1 tsp of honey or maple syrup)

2 tsp SMAK DAB Hot Honey Jalapeno Mustard

1½ tsp ginger, grated 

4 tsp sesame seeds 

1 stalk of green onion, sliced on the bias 

Chile flakes for garnish, optional


Place the sliced or shaved cucumber in a large bowl and set aside. In a separate bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, vinegar, lime juice, sugar, mustard and ginger. Pour the sauce over the cucumber and toss well. 

Garnish the salad with sesame seeds, green onion, and chile flakes (if desired).
